Amgen Environmental Body Limited

Amgen Environmental Body LimitedAmgen Environmental Body Ltd is an organisation who obtains its funding from Amgen Cymru (Cynon Valley Waste Disposal Company Limited), Llwydcoed, Aberdare through the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF). The LCF (formerly known as the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme) is an innovative tax credit scheme that allows Landfill Operators (LO) to use some of their landfill tax to directly fund not-for-profit organisations Like Amgen Environmental Body Ltd. The LCF allows LOs to contribute a portion of the monies paid as Landfill Tax directly to projects that improve the lives of communities living in the vicinity of the landfill sites that is a 10 mile radius. The main aim of the environmental body is to provide funds for projects that fits within the criteria laid down by ENTRUST (the regulator) and gives good value for money.

The LCF is regulated by ENTRUST and managed by Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs. It is ENTRUST's role to ensure that these monies are received and spent by organisations on projects within the governing Landfill Tax Regulations 1996 (Regulations).

The Environment Body which was set up in 2003 has its Registered Office at Bryn Pica Landfill Site, Llwydcoed, Aberdare, CF44 0BX to which all correspondence must be addressed.

Once project proposals are submitted to the Environmental Body, visits will be arranged to view the site and discuss the proposal in more detail. If the proposal matches the object and criteria as laid down by ENTRUST, initial documentation is then submitted by the organisation and once in an acceptable format company secretary will forward the documentation to ENTRUST for their consideration. If approved a registration number is awarded. Once the registration number is received work on the project can commence, overseen by their appointed Project Manager. It must be stressed that the Environmental body cannot award any funds until a registration number has been awarded. Any costs associated with submitting the proposal such as drawings, planning and building fees etc. must be borne by the organisation applying for a grant. Furthermore, project funds can only be paid on receipt of an invoice.
