Ty Glantaf Treforest Voted CA Site of the Year 2010

The Awards organised by letsrecycle.com, which were their seventh year, honoured a range of efforts from the public, private and third sector ranging from individual contributions to innovations in design of facilities and civic amenity sites.

The Ty Glantaf Treforest CA Site was short listed in the Civic Amenity Site of the Year Award sponsored by Repic.

Winner: Ty Glantaf Treforest CA Site - Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council

The South Wales authority received the Award for helping divert 82.57% of material it receives at the site away from landfill and introducing a dedicated facility to recycle waste mattresses. The site also attracts around 800 members of the public each week.

Runners-up: Aston Clinton Household Waste and Recycling Centre - Buckinghamshire County Council; Ormeau Recycling Centre - Belfast City Council

Award being received by Nigel Wheeler and Alun Maddox of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, from Steve Eminton, Philip Morton of letsrecycle.com and host Huw Edwards.
