Amgen Cymru has submitted an entry for the 2009 Heads of the Valleys Innovation Award. The awards are open to any business (including social enterprises) that can show how creativity and innovation has made an impact on their business, workforce, customers, suppliers, communities or society. Innovation involves doing things differently or imaginatively to achieve a dramatic result. What's It all About?
The 2009 Heads of the Valleys Innovation Awards honour and acknowledge the most innovative Businesses in the Heads of the Valleys region. The Awards are an opportunity to gain recognition for any business activity that has been implemented and had a dramatic and beneficial impact on any aspect of the business, its products or services or on its customers, associates or staff. There are a number of sponsored categories covering a wide range of business activity in the area. Remember, innovation is not just about landing people on the moon – it can be related to something small scale that has a very powerful or highly significant outcome.
Any business within the Heads of the valleys can enter along with any business within Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf or Torfaen county borough that can demonstrate a significant impact on the heads of the valleys. The Valley Innovation Award Categories and Prizes
There are 4 distinct categories in the 2009 Innovation Awards:-
· Most Innovative sole trader Sponsored by HSBC Bank PLC Prize: £500 cash prize plus a package of preferential services for the winning company. · Most Innovative Business with more than 20 employees Sponsored by South Wales chamber of commerce Prize: £500 cash prize · Most Innovative Business with more than 20 employees Sponsored by BT Prize: £500 cash prize · Most Innovative Social Enterprise Sponsored by Capital Law Prize: £1000 of legal services for the winning organisation.
The awards presentation will be held on Thursday 25 June 2009 at The Engine House in Dowlais, where the all the winners and runners up will be announced. All winners and runners up will be announced after the award ceremony.
