The Ty Amgen Community Recycling Centre was opened on 5th July 2011 as a replacement for the facility at Bryn Pica. The new site is located on the northern edge of the village of Llwydcoed and provides easier access when compared to the Bryn Pica Landfill.
The Council has built on the success of the Treforest Community Recycling Centre and taken forward the ethos that promoted that particular site to Community Recycling Centre of the Year 2010. Further to this, some new initiatives have been introduced and it is hoped that these will further the progress that Rhondda Cynon Taf Council has made in its efforts to increase recycling throughout the borough.
We are excited about the provision of a ‘Re-Use Service’ that will be offered for the first time on any of the CRC Sites located within the borough county. This will be housed in a storage building at the site and will provide the opportunity for residents to discard unwanted items of furniture that are ‘To Good to Waste’. Where appropriate these items will be reintroduced back in the community by specialist recycling companies, working in partnership with the Council.

Please note that all the Community Recycling Centres are closed on Christmas Day and News Year Day.
